Businesses face many potential cyber threats in today’s digital economy. All businesses with digital assets need cyber security. No business is too small to be targeted by cyber criminals but are the businesses secured from the eyes of the cyber criminals?

What are you as a business owner doing to safeguard your business? Are you adequately prepared for any cyber attack or do you feel that cyber criminals might be too swamped with bigger businesses to even attack your business? Do you have a big business and believe you are completely absolved from cyber-attacks?

Small businesses are at greater risk of being cyberattacked as some of them do not have sufficient resources to install the right tools to combat cyber attacks. This does not leave out the businesses that are not Small/Medium Businesses(SMBs). Do you as a Large enterprise have all you need to stop cyber-attacks?

Today, we will talk about tips on how to better protect your businesses from being susceptible to cyber attacks.

Imagine your business is your castle, full of treasures and important documents. Cyber security is like the moat, the drawbridge, and the well-trained guards who keep those treasures safe from invaders. In the digital age, those invaders are hackers and cyber criminals who want to steal your data, hold your systems hostage, or just cause trouble.

Here's the thing: businesses today are more reliant on technology than ever before. Just like a well-maintained castle offers better protection, strong cyber security keeps your company's data and systems safe.

Let's say a hacker breaches your defenses. They could steal customer information, like credit card numbers or addresses. This can lead to a massive headache(imagine angry customers, lawsuits, and maybe even fines) Even worse, they could shut down your entire network, bringing everything to a screeching halt. No sales, no communication, just lost money.

But cybersecurity doesn't have to be scary. There are steps you can take to be more secure, like using strong passwords, training your employees to spot suspicious emails, and having good security software in place. Think of it as an investment in your company's future. By taking cybersecurity seriously, you protect your data, keep your systems running smoothly, and build trust with your customers. It's a win-win.

Before we talk about the ways to combat cyber attacks, you must understand the main risks first as knowledge of what you are up against is the first step in improving your security.

First is Data breach risk. Malicious software and account hijacking can all result in data breaches. Taking the data of customers and using them for malicious purposes can result in financial loss, criminal prosecution, and damage to the reputation of the business.

Another type of cyber threat is Ransomware. This means locking one out of his/her data and then demanding for large payment to release the info
